Webcast to feature biplane angio unit

Physicians at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT, will be conducting an Internet webcast of an image-guided stent placement using a biplane 3-D angiography system. The webcast will occur at 6 p.m. EDT.

Webcast attendees will be able to observe the placement of both a stent and coils in a wide-necked cerebral aneurysm, the hospital said. The 3-D angiography system enables physicians in endovascular neurosurgery to better visualize and access diseased blood vessels of the brain, facilitating and enabling repair of aneurysms, correcting vessel blockages, and perform other therapeutic procedures.
