The European 3D imaging market is growing as applications become more affordable, according to a new market research report by Frost & Sullivan of San Antonio.
The technology is seen as an effective way to deal with huge volumes of medical data produced at European hospitals, the report finds. The European 3D imaging market produced revenues of $210 million in 2007, and is projected to reach $521.5 million by 2014, Frost & Sullivan said.
The growth of this market will probably be centered in large hospitals, due to the cost of implementing the technology and the bundling of 3D imaging reimbursement with other diagnostic procedures, according to Frost & Sullivan.
