GE Medical Systems and Smith & Nephew have signed an agreement to jointly develop and distribute orthopedic reconstructive and trauma computer-assisted surgery (CAS) software applications and instruments. Technology developed by Waukesha, WI-based GE and the orthopedics division of Smith & Nephew of Memphis, TN, will be deployed with GE's OEC FluoroTrak 9800 C-arm and InstaTrak surgical navigation systems, according to the vendors.
