Security technology firm L-3 Communications of New York City has filed a lawsuit against Analogic of Peabody, MA, charging breach of contract.
Neither Analogic nor L-3 provided details of the nature of the lawsuit. Analogic in the past has supplied its EXACT explosives-detection CT system to L-3, which has used the scanner as part of its eXaminer 3DX 6000 explosives detection system, which it sells to airports.
That relationship appears to have been on the wane recently, however. Analogic's total sales to L-3 amounted to only $18.3 million for the first three quarters of fiscal 2004, compared to sales of $200 million for the fiscal year that ended July 31, 2003.
Analogic said it "has meritorious defenses to this suit," and that it would defend itself "vigorously."
