Radiology software developer Scanslated is highlighting results of a study showing its radiology reporting software may improve patient understanding and engagement. The findings were published recently in the Journal of the American College of Radiology.
Scanlated's software automatically converts standard radiology reports into patient-centered interactive web page formats. In the study, patients spent three times longer engaging with Scanslated's radiology reports compared to traditional imaging reports.
Of the participants, 84.7% reported that the Scanslated reports provided definitions and diagrams that helped them understand their reports, and 86.7% of patients reported having an overall positive experience viewing their reports, according to the study.
The five-month study, which was performed in partnership with the private radiology group Diversified Radiology of Colorado and imaging center operator Touchstone Medical Imaging, included 16,735 patients.
