Samsung has released a glass-free detector for x-ray imaging called AccE.
AccE has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It weighs 4.5 lb, 27% lighter than conventional detectors; boasts a 76% detective quantum efficiency (DQE); holds up to 881 lb of surface load and 441 lb of patient load; and is dust and water resistant, the company said.
