Tampa General Hospital completes $294M Bravera Health network purchase

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) has completed its $294 million acquisition of Bravera Health network.

The Bravera acquisition from subsidiaries of for-profit Community Health Systems (CHS) marks the largest expansion for Tampa General in recent years, and it is the latest in a series of the company's efforts to expand access in Florida. The cash deal, valued at $294 million by CHS, adds to the TGH network three community hospitals, one freestanding ER, two ambulatory surgery centers, and 10 primary care and specialty care clinics in West Florida’s Citrus and Hernando counties.

With the acquisition of Bravera, Tampa General's academic health system now encompasses six hospitals, more than 150 care locations, and nearly 14,000 team members and providers, it said.
