Jericho Special Imaging (JSI) in New Hyde Park, NY, has filed an antitrust suit against radiology management firm CareCore National (CCN) of Wappingers Falls, NY.
JSI is alleging exclusionary conduct by CCN, taken at the behest of and for the benefit of its owners from the Oxford, Aetna, HIP, and HealthNet physician networks, in order to deny JSI network participation. In addition, JSI is further alleging that this action causes harm to competition in the radiology-services market and harm to Oxford, Aetna, HIP, and Health Net subscribers in Nassau County, NY, and surrounding areas who are precluded from accessing JSI's medical services.
JSI said it serves pediatric and other special-needs patients who are typically discouraged by most other private imaging facilities because of the attention and special treatment they require, according to the firm. JSI filed its antitrust action against CCN in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, in Central Islip.
