ASRT Museum and Archives celebrates 10th anniversary

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its museum and archives center.

The museum contains imaging tools from the history of radiology, such as hand-blown x-ray tubes dating back to 1897, a 1916 mechanical rectifier that delivered a high-voltage direct current to the x-ray tubes of the era, and World War II medical imaging equipment.

Located in the ASRT office in Albuquerque, NM, the museum serves as a permanent location to display hundreds of collected and donated items from the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession and ASRT. Today, it features interactive displays, touchscreen exhibits, and historical movies about the profession, the society said.

The ASRT Museum and Archives is open by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, email [email protected].
