GE Healthcare has received a single-source contract from group purchasing organization Novation for its injectable x-ray, MRI, and ultrasound contrast media products. As a result of the deal, the VHA and UHC healthcare organizations will gain access to the GE offerings, many of which are supplied under Novation's NovaPlus private-label plan.
The Waukesha, WI-based vendor said it will provide its Omnipaque (iohexol) and Omniscan (gadodiamide) agents, as well as its Visipaque (iodixanol) nonionic isosmolar contrast agent, its Optison cardiovascular ultrasound imaging agent, and Hypaque (diatrizoate) agent. The deal is effective April 1, and runs through March 31, 2008.
