Multimodality vendor GE Healthcare reported that three years after its market introduction, it has sold its 500th Discovery PET/CT scanner.
The firm made the announcement at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting in Orlando, FL, where it was also showcasing the latest enhancements to its Innova 4100 and Innova 3100 cardiovascular and interventional imaging digital flat panel detector systems.
The products now incorporate 3D models of vasculature structures that can be viewed in any projection, the company said. The 3D application is a vascular x-ray acquisition mode that takes 2D digital angiographic data acquired during high-speed spins, and automatically reconstructs a 3D model of the data, according to GE.
