Dear AuntMinnie Member,
In recent years, computed tomography has stepped out from the shadows and into the limelight as one of imaging's most exciting modalities, capable of advanced new applications from cardiac to trauma to radiation oncology.
Much of the evolution has been driven by multidetector-row imaging and the ever-growing slice counts found on the new generation of scanners. Nowhere is this more evident than at the Radiological Society of North America meeting, where each year radiology vendors roll out their latest and greatest technologies.
This year's RSNA show was no exception, and to capture CT's new spirit of innovation we're pleased to announce the launch of AuntMinnieTV: Advances in CT Technology. This new AuntMinnieTV series uses multimedia technology to give you the most complete look possible at new vendor product introductions at the RSNA conference.
Each week we'll be bringing you an AuntMinnieTV segment from a different CT vendor, starting with this week's featured company, Philips Medical Systems. In this segment, we profile some of the new technologies that were demonstrated in the Philips booth, from the company's unique CT Halo suite-design concept to advanced CT reconstructions that produced amazingly lifelike images. Check it out by clicking here.
We'll be featuring AuntMinnieTV segments from other CT vendors in the weeks to come, so be sure to check back in our RSNA 2005 video gallery, available here. For additional meeting coverage, we invite you to visit our RADCast@RSNA special section at radcast.auntminnie.com.
