X-ray measurement technology developer Radcal announced it has partnered with VacuTec Messtechnik of Dresden, Germany, to provide the VacuDAP meter product line to the North American market.
VacuDAP is used for patient radiation dose measurements. It does not affect the routine operation of equipment and gives users the opportunity to measure total dose to the patient site to minimize the radiation risk, according to Radcal.
To comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations for fluoroscopic equipment, Radcal will initially offer the VacuDAP Duo air kerma meter, which measures air kerma, air kerma rate, dose-area product (DAP), DAP rate, and irradiation time, Radcal said.
