Shimadzu Medical Systems has installed its first Sonialvision G4 multipurpose radiography/fluoroscopy (R/F) system in the U.S. at Union Hospital in Maryland.
Sonialvision G4 provides a variety of exams from endoscopy and videofluoroscopy for gastrointestinal and swallowing exams to orthopedic and general radiography exams, Shimadzu said. Its high-resolution images are acquired at low radiation doses, according to the company.
Sonialvision's ergonomic design focuses on patient safety and hygiene, accommodating both ambulatory and stretcher- or wheelchair-confined patients, Shimadzu said. The system combines a 17 x 17-inch flat-panel detector with a digital imaging platform, Shimadzu said.
