Canon Medical Systems USA has completed the first installation of its Alphenix Core+ interventional angiography system in Florida at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
Alphenix uses Hi-Def digital detector technology designed to enhance clinicians' view during interventional procedures that include stent positioning, wire and catheter navigation through stent struts, and coil deployment. The system's off-center C-arm design also allows for steep angulations to optimize vessel profiling during cardiac interventions.
Jackson's cardiology team plans to use the Alphenix Core+ to track in real-time the estimated skin dose of x-ray exposure, which is displayed on a screen with designated colors ranging from lowest to highest levels to ensure patient safety.
