Dear AuntMinnie Member,
CHICAGO - RSNA 2011 opened this morning to cloudy skies in the Windy City, but optimism exuded from the opening address in McCormick Place by Dr. Burton Drayer, RSNA's president.
While acknowledging that radiology is indeed beset by external threats, Dr. Drayer prefers to point out the positive developments that have occurred in the diagnostic revolution of the past 40 years, since the development of CT. Indeed, the radiologists of today have access to technology that was beyond even the dreams of radiologists four decades ago.

We're also featuring other stories in our RADCast @ RSNA coverage of radiology's showcase meeting. Learn about how researchers in China are using dual-energy CT to identify dangerous thrombi in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, how FDG-PET/CT can assess early chemotherapy response in breast cancer patients, and how lesions graded as BI-RADS 3 are commonly found after three rounds of screening ultrasound but are rarely malignant.
