Diagnostic imaging service provider Monarch PET/CT announced that it is now offering PET/CT exams using the radiopharmaceutical Amyvid (F-18 florbetapir injection) at some of its facilities.
Chester County PET Associates in West Chester, PA, and the radiology department in the Pavilion of Doylestown Hospital Campus in Doylestown, PA, are the first facilities to offer the imaging agent.
Amyvid has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for PET imaging of the brain to estimate beta amyloid plaque, which has been linked to cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease.
