Morgan steps down at International Isotopes

Ira Morgan has stepped down from his position as chairman of radiopharmaceutical developer International Isotopes, the Denton, TX, company is reporting.

International Isotopes has named William Nicholson to replace Morgan as chairman. Nicholson has been a director of the company since March 1997. Morgan will continue to lead International Isotopes' imaging division, and will remain on the company's board.

The company said the change was motivated by its move from the development phase to full commercial production of radioisotopes. The firm is producing radioisotopes for radiation therapy and nuclear medicine procedures using a linear accelerator that was built for the U.S. government's superconducting supercollider project, which was canceled in 1994.
