Cardinal opens research center

Cardinal Health has formally launched its Center for the Advancement of Molecular Imaging in Phoenix.

The collaboration center will enable Cardinal's scientists, engineers, and manufacturing experts to help pharmaceutical companies and academic research institutions accelerate the development, testing, and commercialization of PET imaging agents, according to the firm. The newly renovated and expanded 25,000-sq-ft campus will aim to expedite the development of nuclear imaging agents that treat complex diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and neurological disorders, Cardinal said.

The center will also be used to improve the manufacturing and dispensing process for imaging agents, the company said.
