Carestream Health and its subsidiaries received 47 patents in 2011 from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for innovations in its radiology imaging and healthcare IT, dental imaging, and molecular imaging offerings, the company reported.
The new patents include improvements in image processing techniques for digital radiography and mammography exams; data processing enhancements for radiology information management systems such as RIS and PACS; advances in camera and sensor technology for dental imaging systems; and new sensor, dye, and multimodal imaging improvements for Carestream's molecular imaging products, according to the vendor.
