Molecular imaging developer Sofie Biosciences plans to debut Elixys, an automated radiochemistry platform for producing PET probes, this week at the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) annual meeting in Miami Beach, FL.
During PET imaging, radiolabeled probes are used to target and measure biological and pharmacological processes. Elixys uses a multireactor design and features disposable cassettes to simplify operations, high-temperature and high-pressure capabilities, on-demand reagent delivery, and radiation sensors and reactor vial cameras to monitor synthesis processes, according to the firm. The system also has software that can be used on smartphones and mobile tablets.
