Nordion posted mixed results for its third-quarter and nine-month revenues for fiscal 2012 (end-July 31).
Revenue increased to $67.1 million Canadian ($67.8 million U.S.), compared with $66.8 million Canadian ($67.4 million U.S) in the third quarter of fiscal 2011. The company also had net income of $12.3 million Canadian ($12.4 million U.S.) for the period, compared with a net loss of $4.1 million Canadian ($4.1 million U.S.) in 2011.
For the nine-month period, however, revenue decreased to $170.1 million Canadian ($171.8 million U.S.), compared with $200 million Canadian ($202 million U.S.) in the same period of fiscal 2011. Nordion's nine-month net income increased, with the company posting net income of $14.6 million Canadian ($14.7 million U.S.), compared with $9.9 million Canadian ($10 million U.S.) in the same period a year ago.
