Molecular imaging global market could reach $3B

The global market for molecular imaging devices could reach nearly $3 billion by 2018, according to a report from market research firm BCC Research.

The projected growth represents a compound annual growth rate of 6.2% from 2013 to 2018. BCC Research estimates the value of the global market as $2 billion in 2012, and it expects worldwide revenues to reach $2.2 billion in 2013.

The report includes the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, China, India, and Australia. Key areas covered include planar scintillation cameras, as well as PET, PET/CT, SPECT, and SPECT/CT systems, the company said.
