The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has issued a final order approving Sterigenics' acquisition of Canadian radioisotope firm Nordion.
The deal remains subject to certain closing conditions, including regulatory approvals and particular amendments to the Nordion and Theratronics Divestiture Authorization Act. It is also conditional upon Nordion having $300 million (U.S.) available at closing to complete the steps of the transaction, according to Nordion.
The sale is expected to close in the second half of 2014, the company said.
