Medical imaging software developer Mirada Medical has signed a collaboration agreement with radiation therapy equipment developer RefleXion Medical.
The two firms will work together to evaluate the performance of RefleXion's PET-guided radiotherapy system with clinical PET and CT imaging data.
RefleXion combines external-beam radiation therapy with PET to deliver radiation to one or multiple targets. Mirada Medical developed software for PET analysis in the early 2000s and has been working to integrate PET imaging into radiation therapy planning, according to the firm.
In other Mirada news, the company plans to introduce its Registration Assurance program at the upcoming American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) annual meeting in Austin, TX. Registration Assurance includes a suite of tools and support for checking both the quality of fused images and deformation maps, as well as quantifying registrations, Mirada said.
