The U.S. National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) has given RSNA $1.27 million in funding to support research by the society's Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers Alliance (QIBA).
RSNA organized the QIBA initiative in 2007 to advance quantitative imaging and the use of imaging biomarkers in clinical trials and practice. Quantitative imaging is the development, standardization, and optimization of anatomical, functional, and molecular imaging acquisition protocols, data analyses, display methods, and reporting structures, according to RSNA.
This is the fourth year that NIBIB has funded QIBA research, RSNA said.
