Nuclear medicine firm Zecotek Photonics said it has received a $500,000 order for scintillation crystals from an unnamed device manufacturer in China.
The manufacturer will use the crystals in a new series of PET imaging devices, and it is considering more purchase orders to meet customer demand for high-resolution PET scanners in China.
China represents a major opportunity for the company, due to the country's rapid economic growth, emerging middle class, and aging population, Zecotek said.
