Nuclear medicine firm Zecotek Photonics has won an order for its lutetium fine silicate (LFS) scintillation crystals from the University of California, Davis, which will use the crystals in its efforts to develop PET/MR technology.
In 2015, the institution successfully tested the LFS scintillation crystals in a coating-based, depth-encoding approach for PET detectors, Zecotek said. The crystals will now be used in PET/MR modules being developed by the university.
