Higher CT and molecular imaging sales helped Siemens Healthineers achieve moderate revenue growth in its Imaging business for the 2019 fiscal first quarter.
For the period (end-December 31, 2018), Siemens had revenue of 2.02 billion euros ($2.31 billion U.S.), up 3% on a comparable basis from the 1.94 billion euros ($2.22 billion) recorded in the 2018 fiscal first quarter. The company highlighted particularly strong growth contributions from CT and molecular imaging during the period; on a geographic basis, the company saw strong growth in the Americas region.
The Imaging business had profit of 396 million euros ($452.5 million), compared with 371 million euros ($424 million) in the same quarter a year ago. The Imaging division's profit margin improved despite negative currency effects, mostly thanks to volume and the company's cost-savings program.
