MRI vendor Hitachi Medical Systems America of Twinsburg, OH, has signed a volume purchasing deal with Dallas-based imaging services provider Radiologix for Hitachi's Airis II open MRI system.
The agreement represents the extension of a volume purchasing deal that Hitachi had with Questar, an imaging center chain that Radiologix predecessor American Physician Partners acquired in August 1999. Hitachi previously did not have a bulk buy deal with APPI, which changed its name to Radiologix in September 1999.
Hitachi executives did not indicate how many Airis II scanners they believe they will sell under the volume purchasing deal.
