GE Medical Systems has restructured its list prices and discount schedule for MRI systems sold in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. The restructuring is intended to bring list prices more in line with the overall MRI marketplace and to be more consistent with GE's modality price-discount practices, according to the Waukesha, WI-based firm.
The list price change would have little impact, however, on final net selling prices, said Paul Mirabella, president and CEO GE Medical Systems America. The restructuring was meant to simplify pricing for both GE's customers and its sales force, he said. GE is working with its corporate account customers and other buying groups to restate member discount targets under the new list prices, which become effective March 8.
In other GE news, the firm has introduced its IntelliMotion asset management system. IntelliMotion is an information service that provides healthcare providers with real-time location and utilization information for their mobile assets, such as infusion pumps, monitoring devices, beds, and wheelchairs. The service employs wireless locating system technology developed by PinPoint of Billerica, MA.
