Philips Intera 3.0T cleared for whole-body scanning

The FDA has given 510(k) clearance to Bothell, WA-based Philips Medical Systems to sell its 3-tesla Intera MR system for whole-body scanning.

Intera was cleared in December 2000 for head applications only, and the FDA’s January action covers a new quadrature body coil.
