Confirma to launch breast MRI CAD software

Image processing firm Confirma will debut its CADstream breast MRI computer-aided detection software at next week's 2002 RSNA meeting in Chicago. The Kirkland, WA-based vendor's first product, CADstream begins by registering all of the images in a data series to account for patient motion.

The system then automatically performs image processing functions such as subtraction images, real-time contrast uptake and washout curves, maximum intensity projections, multiplanar reformatting, and tumor volume measurements, Confirm said. The company said that CADstream allows for standardization of MRI studies as well as enhancement of interpretation, economics, and quality control. CADstream has been in beta testing at seven sites, including Inland Imaging in Spokane, WA.
