In other MRI news, the folks at Junk Architects offer salient reasons why retrofitting an MR suite into an existing space takes more than just mere eyeballing. Careful consideration must be given to technical, operational, and safety issues. For example, did you know that magnetic fields can extend into the floors above and below the suite? It's probably best to avoid exposing the neighbors to excessive gauss, or you simply won't be able to look them in the eye anymore!
