GE Healthcare is providing ultrasound and MR units for use at the Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy.
The Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based vendor is providing its Logiq Book XP portable ultrasound systems to medical staff at hospitals in Torino, Susa, and Pinerolo. In addition, the vendor has brought a mobile MR unit for use at the downhill ski competitions in the mountains of Sestriere.
GE has also supplied ultrasound units to athlete clinics in Torino, Sestriere, and Bardoneccia. After the Olympics are over, the ultrasound systems used at the polyclinics and surrounding hospitals in Torino, Pinerolo, and Susa will stay in the Torino area for the benefit of the local population, GE said.
In other GE news, the vendor is celebrating a milestone with its Myoview cardiac imaging agent. Today marks the 10th anniversary of Myoview in the U.S. market.
