Increases in the use of interventional MRI in brain surgery, along with the greater use of MRI diffusion imaging to diagnose strokes and other injuries to the brain, should be key growth factors that will drive the worldwide MRI market to $4 billion in anticipated revenues by 2010, according to research firm Kalorama Information.
Although cardiac MRI is not expected to replace all other interventional cardiology procedures, cardiac MRI is expected to grow substantially in clinical use over the next decade, according to a report released today by the New York City-based firm.
