Advanced Magnetics adds execs

MRI contrast developer Advanced Magnetics has appointed Dr. Louis Brenner as senior vice president and Mohammed Salem, Ph.D., as vice president of regulatory affairs.

Brenner comes to the Cambridge, MA-based firm after serving as senior director of business development for the renal and transplantation units of Genzyme. He will assume responsibility for the company's ferumoxytol program as well as building its medical affairs group.

Salem, who recently served as vice president of regulatory affairs and U.S. head of regulatory affairs at Fresenius Biotech North America, will provide strategic direction and leadership for all regulatory aspects of drug development programs at Advanced Magnetics, according to the company.
