Mercury Computer Systems has introduced its Visage MR MRI receiver product line.
Visage MR is a 16-bit analog-to-digital receiver board with digital filtering and MRI-specific noise reduction technology. It extends dynamic range through decimation to 24-bits of resolution, and can be combined with multiple boards to operate in parallel, according to the Chelmsford, MA-based vendor.
This scaling of acquisition channel capability can reduce scan times in anatomical imaging, especially in 3D applications, the firm said. Mercury's ExactPhase digital detection technology enables parallel acquisition with zero-phase distortion, reducing ghosting and ringing artifacts, according to the firm.
Mercury is marketing Visage MR to research institutions and medial OEMs for insertion into new MRI system platforms and for upgrades to installed systems.
