Hitachi's Oasis nets FDA OK

Hitachi Medical Systems America of Twinsburg, OH, has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its Oasis MRI system.

First shown as a work-in-progress at the 2006 RSNA meeting, Oasis features Hitachi's proprietary 1.2-tesla vertical-field magnet technology with high magnet homogeneity and higher-order active shim, in an open-architecture design.
