Time Medical debuts two MR systems

MR firm Time Medical (TiMed) has entered the MRI scanner market with the launch of two low-field units.

Utilizing TiMed's high-temperature superconducting (HTS) radiofrequency (RF) coil technology, the 0.2-tesla Hybrid Mona scanner is designed for whole-body MR exams, according to the Metuchen, NJ-based firm. The 0.35-tesla Hybrid Pica system is targeted at dedicated orthopedic MR studies.

In other TiMed news, the company has formally opened its MRI product plant in China Medical City, Taizhou. The facility has the capacity to initially produce 160 MRI systems per year, TiMed said.
