MR firm Time Medical (TiMed) of Metuchen, NJ, is establishing an R&D center in Singapore to develop a breast MRI scanner using its high-temperature superconducting (HTS) radiofrequency (RF) coil technology.
TiMed believes the 1.5-tesla dedicated breast MR unit will yield image quality equivalent to a 3-tesla system. TiMed's HTS technology is designed to improve image quality without requiring increased magnetic field strength and cost, according to the company.
