Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA, has installed its 1,000th Magnetom Espree MRI system worldwide.
Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis is the recipient, marking the third Magnetom Espree in use at the 1,259-bed hospital.
The 1.5-tesla Espree was introduced in 2004 and features a 70-cm bore width and magnet length of 125 cm from cover to cover. The design provides 30 cm of space above the patient's face, approximately twice the distance of vertical-field open MRI systems.
