The American College of Radiology (ACR) has released an updated guide for the safe and effective use of contrast media.
The manual now has updated chapters on patient selection and preparation strategies, administering contrast media to pregnant or potentially pregnant patients, and using gadolinium-based contrast media in patients with normal and impaired renal function. There is also a new chapter on contrast-enhanced ultrasound, the college said.
The manual is available for free on the ACR's website.
