Circle Cardiovascular buys Corstem, inks Galgo deal

Cardiac imaging software developer Circle Cardiovascular Imaging has had a busy week at the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) meeting in Bellevue, WA. The firm announced its acquisition of machine-learning firm Corstem and signed a deal with Galgo Medical of Barcelona, Spain.

Corstem is a developer of machine-learning and artificial intelligence software with a focus on cardiac image analysis. The acquisition will expand Circle's product offerings, with Corstem's technologies integrated into Circle's core product, cvi42, with automated fully quantitative myocardial perfusion functionality.

The deal with Galgo covers the distribution and joint development of MRI scanner application products and workflows, with postprocessing capabilities. The focus will be on expanding the accessibility and use of cardiac MR for electrophysiology procedures such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia ablations. Circle will work to make Galgo's Automatic Detection of Arrhythmic Substrate (ADAS) 3D software more widely available to the global electrophysiology community, the companies said.
