Portable MRI developer Hyperfine has secured medical device registration for its Swoop MRI scanner in Australia and New Zealand.
The device has been in research use at Alfred Health in Melbourne since last year -- a facility with the largest intensive care unit in the Southern hemisphere, according to Hyperfine. Additionally, the Australian National Imaging Facility (NIF) has chosen to use Swoop in a $2 million project to provide imaging capability for the Australian research community, the company said.
Quantum HealthCare will serve as Hyperfine's Australia and New Zealand distributor.
