Radiation therapy vendor Varian Medical Systems has installed its Clinac 2100iX medical linear accelerator, as well as its On-Board Imager for image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), at Christchurch Hospital in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The hospital serves a population of about 500,000 people, covering approximately two-thirds of the South Island in the country, according to the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor.
In other news, Varian reported that Timothy Guertin, president and COO for the company, and Kent Thiry, chairman and CEO of outpatient center developer DaVita of El Segundo, CA, have been named to the company's board of directors
