2008 11 03 16 23 27 979 Philips Ult 2008The new features are designed to improve workflow and throughput while providing the latest advances in imaging and quantification capabilities. Enhancements include the VL13-5 linear-array transducer for 2D, 3D, and 4D imaging of breast, small parts, vascular, and general applications.

An advanced version of the company's XRES algorithm, as well as tissue aberration correction technology, are intended to increase image clarity and definition when scanning patients with fatty breast tissue. In addition, Philips' QLAB quantification tools include vascular flow indexes, as well as region of interest and microvascular imaging motion compensation.

Finally, Philips will highlight the new HD15 ultrasound system, which contains a new platform and architecture in a small mobile unit. This system offers tissue-specific imaging presets to optimize transducers to the type of exam being performed with minimal adjustment. The system can be configured for dedicated use in a single specialty or department or as a multispecialty system for use throughout the hospital and at the point of care.
