Ultrasound vendor Esaote will feature its eHD technology at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) scientific sessions in San Francisco.
Shown on the company's MyLab Twice, MyLab Seven, and MyLab Alpha ultrasound systems, eHD is a suite of technology advances and echocardiography applications aimed at providing more efficient cardiovascular exams, according to the vendor.
An integrated technology that targets refinements in each step in the imaging path, eHD includes transducer and beamformer refinements to extend depth penetration for imaging of larger patients. Other systemic refinements provide increased contrast, reduced noise, and enhanced Doppler sensitivity, Esaote said.
Esaote will also showcase its XStrain 4D technology, which seeks to improve the accuracy of quantitative data on heart function. XStrain 4D is based on standard 2D echocardiography and does not require the volumetric transducers typically employed during 3D strain imaging, according to the company.
Esaote also intends to present its Prevention Suite, a suite of applications that are designed to assist in the detection of early-stage cardiovascular disease. Applications in the suite support measurement of coronary artery flow and the thickness of the carotid artery, as well as tracking of heart mechanics, Esaote said.
