Ultrasound developer Zonare launched a new high-frequency transducer this week at ECR 2014.
The new L20-5 probe is a lightweight, ergonomically designed transducer for high-resolution imaging in clinical applications such as pediatric, musculoskeletal, small parts, breast, interventional, pharmaceutical research, and other applications. It has a 32-mm aperture and up to 5 cm of penetration.
L20-5 is based on Zonare's Zone sonography technology (ZST), which acquires ultrasound data up to 10 times faster than conventional ultrasound scanners and extracts more information with each transmit/receive cycle, according to the company.
Zonare also demonstrated a new upgrade to its ZS3 platform that includes new enhancements, transducers, and clinical options, including new cardiac and advanced vascular options. The new upgrade also enables contrast-enhanced ultrasound.
