Ultrasound technology developer SuperSonic Imagine has launched a new ultrasound scanner, Aixplorer Mach 30.
Mach 30 is the result of several years of development at the company. A major new feature is SonicPad, which provides users with intuitive control of exam functions and lets physicians focus on the clinical information displayed on the screen rather than on the scanner controls, the company said.
Other features on Mach 30 include a new generation of the company's UltraFast imaging technique and its SWE Plus shearwave elastography software that has been significantly enhanced in terms of acquisition speed and examination depth, according to the firm.
The new scanner also includes a range of probes, including a new high-frequency abdominal probe.
Mach 30 will be launched at upcoming conferences in France and internationally. The system is pending the CE Mark and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance.
